Chocolate and hazelnuts
Chocolate and hazelnuts. Rich, dark chocolate and toasted nuts… OMG! Although this doesn’t sound like the healthiest topping around, the dark chocolate contains very little sugar and will give you a real boost in the afternoon, while the hazelnuts provide a sustaining burst of protein.
Don’t feel guilty and let’s make this special treat for your homemade ice-cream!
Preparation time:
15 minutes
Difficulty:
ready in a jiffy
Ingredients
- 100 gr. dark chocolate bar – at least 50% dark
30 gr. hazelnuts
Step 1
Chop the hazelnuts on a chopping board.
I suggest to use a knife without hacksaw to do this in the best way.

Step 2
Break up or chop the chocolate into small pieces and put into a heatproof bowl. Sit this bowl inside a saucepan of simmering water to make a bain marie, and stir with a wooden spoon to melt the chocolate.

Step 3
Once the chocolate has melted tip the nuts into the chocolate to thoroughly coat them and Da-dan it’s ready!

Suggestions
Can you smell how good is it? And you didn’t try it yet…
You can add this rich topping on any flavours, avoiding the sorbet. One of my best combination is banana milk flavour with chocolate topping. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
